We pave the way for the stars of tomorrow

Slipstream Autosport is an Adelaide race team and driver management operation. Four programs, one workshop on Port Road, plus a fairly stubborn belief that the cost of a first season should not decide who gets a career.

Why the team exists

Most talent never gets past the cost of a first season. Not the ones without ability, the ones without a budget. Slipstream was built to shorten that gap.

We field our own cars and bikes, we run one of the strongest sim teams in the country, then we take what we have learnt about getting funded and we run that process for other drivers through Start F1RST. A driver can start on a rig in our simulator centre and finish a year on a national grid with a sponsor behind them who was found, pitched and signed by us.

The team was founded by Ivan Vantagiato, who also founded the Sim Racing Adelaide venue plus co-founded the Let's Talk Motorsport media brand. Ivan still races, currently in MINI Challenge Australia in car 89, which keeps the whole operation honest about what it is actually asking of its drivers.

What we run

  1. Car Racing

Drivers at state, national and international level, with a primary focus on Australian championships plus drivers racing in New Zealand, Malaysia, China, America and Europe.

  2. ASBK Superbikes

A one rider privateer team in the Australian Superbike Championship, supporting Tyra Lynch on a Yamaha R1 with Michelin support.

  3. Esport Racing

Over 15 drivers from 8 nations, winners of the 2024 iRacing Daytona 24 Hour top split on debut, plus a simulator centre at the workshop.

  4. Start F1RST

Sponsorship management for drivers and riders outside our own team. Pitch decks, cold calls, contract negotiation, at 15% of whatever we secure.
